iPhone 3Gs Wednesday, June 17, 2009

If you haven't heard about this then your probably very not interested or living under a rock.
You can find out more about it HERE.
My contract is due to expire in the next week or so and I'm currently with Orange who I've had no problems with. Currently there are no Orange phones that I am interested in. I'd made my mind up some time ago to go with an Android handset or the iPhone.
The iPhone is sexy no doubt about it and the only Android phone of any interest is a new Samsung one that is due out in the next few months. So I've gone with an iPhone.
£35pm contract the minutes and texts are of little concern as I never get anywhere near the limits and if I do then there is always Skype or e-mail.
The phone itself has cost me £175 for the 32gb version and it's a 2 year contract but I think I will be too busy playing with apps to need an upgade in 12months time. I've managed to get a good deal as I preordered the phone and will look forward to £60 cash back and also £42 trade in for my current phone making the deal that much sweeter.
The only thing I wanted for the phone that is not available (yet) is push Gmail, but if I'm being honest it's just a gimmick and either the iPhones built in email app or the Gmail web app will be more than sufficient for my needs.
Now the iPhone is supposed to be available from 19 June 2009 but I've just received an email saying mine has been dispatched and should arrive tomorrow a whole 24hrs earlier.
Only thing is I'm at work and will have to wait until I get home to pick it up. Boo Hiss.
I've looked at the app store and the web apps and I think I will enjoy my new toy.
UPDATE: 21 June 2009
Well it didn't turn up on Thursday or Friday when it was supposed to. It didn't turn up on Saturday either. So I called www.mobiles.co.uk on Saturday morning at 9.30 am their answerphone message stated they were closed but would be open Saturday from 9am to 5pm
WTF??? If it hadn't been for the fact they are part of a slightly respected carphone warehouse I would have thought I'd been scammed.
I managed to get through to them in the afternoon to be told (very apologetically) that dispatched didn't actually mean dispatched and they would send it Monday for Tuesday delivery which means I won't get the phone until Wednesday due to work. Gutted.
UPDATE: 23 June 2009
Still no damn iPhone!!! I called www.mobiles.co.uk and was told my card had been declined! I asked why, they didn't know. I asked them to put the same card details through there and then whilst I was on the phone with the details from their records. Surprise Surprise the payment went through with no problems. So fingers crossed my phone should be here tomorrow.

Greggs Childrens Cancer Run 2009 Tuesday, June 16, 2009
I managed to finnish the run in around an hour and five minutes. I was pretty disappointed with my performance but it was hard going. I felt a great sense of achievment afterwards and managed to raise around £230 for the charity.
